Despite the cool temperatures back in the 40s, we were determined to stick to our plan for a long Sunday walk. We set out on a walk with a mission of checking out the renovated Town Hall Brewery in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood by the West Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. Since we just walked a similar route last weekend, we opted for city streets over the Grand Rounds trail.
We walked through Tangletown and went east to Portland Avenue and later to Park Avenue and went through Bryant, Central, and Philips West neighborhoods. I hadn't been to the new addition at the American Swedish Institute so we made FIKA our lunch pitstop. I had the Beet Terrine: chevre, grapefruit, yogurt, wild rice & sunflower seed crisp and a Verdant Tea hot chai. Scott and I split semla for dessert since it was the last week they offer it since Lent ends next weekend.
We bundled back up and headed for Town Hall Brewery and took Franklin Avenue through Ventura Village over to Cedar Avenue. I wasn't in the mood for drinks or food since we had such a fantastic lunch. Scott took one for the team and had two beers to make up for me not having one. Afterward, we walked along Washington Avenue into the North Loop neighborhood and took the Cedar Lake Trail out of downtown, under the Twins Stadium and to Lowry Hill neighborhood where we picked up a Car2Go.
