Today was Scott and my third attempt to walk the entire length of the Metro Green Line. The first attempt was during the Grand Opening celebration and we were rained out. The second attempt was last week during our summer solstice walk which was after 12 miles of walking in the intense sun and I called it quits at Stadium Village.
Today, we drove to the start of the line and parked about four blocks west of Target Field with the plan of completing as much of the route as possible before the pending storm hit. Thankfully, the storm held out for us and we successfully walked from Target Field in downtown Minneapolis to Union Depot in downtown St. Paul.
We crossed the river! That phrase has never meant much to me since I'm a transplant but people here like to play up the faux rivalry between Minneapolis and St. Paul. Scott and I have already walked around a huge chunk of Minneapolis and though I will never tire of exploring all of its nooks and crannies, I do like to change things up.

A favorite spring/summer outing is walking to Sea Salt for Mahi tacos. We took advantage of the beautiful day and headed to Minnehaha Falls late in the morning. I had already put on about 5 miles from a dog walk and a trip to Caribou Coffee at 50th and France. I guess I was determined to get as many steps in as possible (I walked 40,000+ today)!
