A brewery themed walk is the perfect way to spend a Saturday in Minneapolis. I also wanted to show Scott all of the destruction and construction going on downtown.

In order to walk a section of the Grand Rounds we don't typically see, we drove a Car2Go car to Northeast Minneapolis. I originally wanted our starting point to be Deming Heights Park but instead we started near the Johnson Street business district. Sunday, April 13, 2014
Despite the cool temperatures back in the 40s, we were determined to stick to our plan for a long Sunday walk. We set out on a walk with a mission of checking out the renovated Town Hall Brewery in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood by the West Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. Since we just walked a similar route last weekend, we opted for city streets over the Grand Rounds trail. Sunday, April 6, 2014
We walked around the eastern sides of Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. We saw a fox on Lake Harriet and most people didn't notice. I intended to go around Cedar Lake but I took a wrong turn and we ended up walking downtown and then into the North Loop neighborhood. We stopped at Runyon's for a break before walking along the Mississippi River, crossing the Stone Arch Bridge and ending on the University of Minnesota campus. We rented a Car 2 Go to get home instead of taking the bus which saved us quite a bit of time. |
