Today I decided to take a personal day off so that I could recharge after having such an active (OK, active for me!) social calendar this past weekend. On Saturday, I took photos of Avery's birthday party, ran errands and watched the final movie of the list of ten best picture nominated films. On Sunday, I met Liz, Brian and their daughter Vivian at the Children's Museum, ran errands, at at Kafe 421, took photos of Amy's nieces, Sophia and Julia and then watched the Oscars returning home around 11:00 PM.
Today, I wanted to start the day in a way that I am unable during the work week. I took my buddy, Stewie and we hit the trails at Lake Harriet. It was quite cold until the sun started beaming down on us. So, I wanted to capture the competing sensations of the cold air temperature and warmth from being in the direct sunlight. I recently read on Erin's blog that if you set the aperture at f/22, it creates the sun rays. I think this photo perfectly captures the cold and warmth in one photo which is basically how I start feeling in the late winter/early spring.
I attempted my first 365 photo project in 2011. I made it to Day 246.
