Just as I suspected, I am thoroughly enjoying Spring after fighting through the harshest winter I have experienced in my time living in Minnesota. My daily photos will likely be a stream of nature shots because I have to appreciate all the blooming colors and textures while I still like being outside. Yep, you guessed it, I can't stand the summer. So, I basically like the weather in Minnesota for approximately 3 of the 12 months! Anyway, we have had absolutely gorgeous days lately and I am loving every minute of it (at least when I am "off the clock" and able to roam freely).

Much like this lilac bush, I am in a season of new growth and awakening. It may sound cheesy, but it's true. I am pushing myself to behave in new ways, think differently and change my outlook on life. Today, I went to a professional conference devoted to a field in which I have great interest and only peripherally interact with in my current professional role. I talked to new people, asked questions, made connections and was amazed at how much I enjoyed the entire experience. Typically such occasions are a guarantee that I will have a headache by the end of the day. I have no doubt that the reason I left feeling energized rather than drained, is because of the work I am doing internally to become more comfortable with who I am and possibly more importantly who I am not.
Back to this lilac bush, I can't wait to photograph the blooms and wish scratch and sniff technology existed because the scent of blooming lilacs is exhilarating.
PS I am also celebrating my 100th day of taking a photo every day!

This weekend when I saw that today would be the best forecasted weather day of the week, I decided it'd be a grand day to take off from work. I am so glad I did. I enjoyed the sun by running/walking from my Armatage neighborhood home to Lake Harriet, went around the lake and back home for a total of 6.07 miles. While the MInnehaha Creek flows rapidly, this is the first glimpse of open water I've seen on any of the Chain of Lakes. Euphoria!

Minnesota, it may say Spring on your calendars but it is pure winter outside. Just when we were able to see all of the grass below where we sit at work, it is now covered in a white blanket of snow.
I was unbelievably crabby all day because of this. I know, I know, March is the snowiest month. Blah, blah, blah. I realize I choose to live here but COME ON.
I will be visiting all of my summer hiking photostream to remind myself that warm, sunny days are ahead. Oh and that I will be complaining about the humidity and heat in August.
I love Minnesota!

I prefer cold, rainy days when they are spent under the covers reading. I bribed myself to go to work by wearing jeans and a sweatshirt disguised to look like a jacket. Soon those bare tree limbs will be full of green leaves, thanks, in part to the rain we had today.

The moment I got off the Metrotransit Bus #156, I knew I needed to take a detour by Armatage Park. A sure sign of spring, I could hear skateboarders and had to see it for myself. I have a special place in my heart for skateboarders because of Scott's time "gettin' rad bustin' fresh moves" such as ollies, rail slides, and kick flips. However, kids these days have it easy. Scott had to scout out buildings, parking lots, staircases, and loading docks for his tricks. He likes to give me tours of all the places he skate boarded in downtown Minneapolis. I also know how to spot anti-skate boarding efforts because of Scott!
By the way, this photo was originally taken by my Canon EOS Rebel T2i. The photos were sent to my gmail account and then uploaded to my iPhone library. I then used Diptic, Labelbox and Instagram iPhone apps to create the final photo. I learned about Diptic and Labelbox from Bari of Live Laugh Run Breathe.

A sure sign of spring; the high rise window washers are back. It startles me every time. I heard a knocking sound on the window; look to investigate its origin and am shocked to find two men dangling in midair. Since my work space (ahem, cube) is next to this window, I do appreciate the clean glass to better my viewing pleasure! Thanks window washers!
I attempted my first 365 photo project in 2011. I made it to Day 246.
