Thursday, July 28, 2011 On my walk with Jen and Brynn around Northrop neighborhood, I spotted this gas line. It looked like a sculpture to me and with a little Lightroom effect thrown in, it kind of is sculptural.

While waiting for the bus on Hennepin Ave, I saw people waiting for the Torchlight Parade, part of the Aquatennial celebration. It was about 6:30 PM when I arrived and these early arrivers had a two-hour wait ahead of them as the parade was scheduled to start at 8:30 PM. The fact that the Torchlight 5K was canceled/postponed was a sign to me that I should head on home. I thought these little lawn chairs (love seats?) were cute, don't you? By the way, I mad the 200 day mark! Woohoo! 165 days left in 2011- make them count! Sunday, July 3, 2011 My family and I visited my aunt and uncle at Skyscape Condo and they have great views. One of which is the deflated Metrodome. Thanks to Allison Long, graphic designer extraordinaire, I have the business cards of my dreams for my Minneapolis 81 project. Yes, I dream about business cards. The card features Tartan Cabaret font from Chank Fonts and was printed by Moo.
Friday, June 17, 2011 Massive migraine hit me at 4:00 PM and so Scott brought me a Sprite to help ease my upset stomach. I was able to sleep it off but I definitely didn't feel motivated to take a photo of anything other than the Sprite bottle sitting on my nightstand. Friday, May 27, 2011 This children's ball has been touring the neighborhood and has found a resting place in an abandoned yard. For some reason the whole thing depresses me. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 Before going to Give & Take at the Playwrights' Center in Seward, I stopped by 2nd Moon Coffee Cafe at 2223 E Franklin Ave in Minneapolis. The containers of tea immediately caught my eye with the handwritten labels in shades of pink and purple against the blue walls. I am not much of a tea drinker but I associate it with peace, calm, quiet and generally being in a zen state. So, I should probably drink it! Monday, April 4, 2011 Happy mail day today! My first pack of personal business cards from Moo arrived. There have been many times when I've wished I had a way to quickly tell people where to find me online. Now, all I need to do is carry these cards with me in my camera bag/purse. I am so happy one of the blogs I read mentioned Moo. They are a really cool printing company and they have affordable options for personal business cards. I hope to use my own photos for the next pack of cards! |
